Product Licence
Rachel Taylor EI
Effective 2 September 2026.
Applies to all digital products purchased from racheltaylor.com.au and delivered through the Learning Academy.
The short version
This is the plain English summary. The full terms below are what actually applies, but this is the gist.
You can:
- Use the product on one website, or for one brand, or for one client project. One licence, one use.
- Change absolutely anything you like: layouts, colours, fonts, structure, copy, images. Pull it apart and rebuild it. It is yours to make your own.
- Use it commercially, including on a site that sells things.
- Use it for a paying client, if you buy a separate licence for each client.
- Show your finished work in your portfolio, on social media, and in case studies.
- Keep using it forever. There is no subscription and no expiry.
You cannot:
- Sell, share, give away, or redistribute the product itself, in whole or in part, in original or modified form.
- Use one licence across multiple websites, brands, or clients.
- Repackage any part of it into your own template, theme, kit, course, or product.
- List it on a marketplace, membership, bundle, or file sharing site.
- Share your Learning Academy login, downloads, or training videos with anyone else.
If you are not sure whether something is allowed, email hello@racheltaylor.com.au and ask.
1. Definitions
We, us, our: Rachel Taylor EI, an entreprise individuelle registered in France (SIRET 813 858 826 00049), trading as Rachel Taylor.
Product: any digital product purchased from us, including website templates, course portal templates, author templates, additional page layouts, Canva kits, email kits, workbooks, playbooks, guides, and the training materials that accompany them.
You, your, licensee: the individual or business that purchased the product. A licence is granted to one person or one business, not to a team, agency, or organisation generally.
End client: a third party you are building for in a professional capacity.
Live site: a single publicly accessible website on a single primary domain. Staging, development, and local copies of that same site do not count as separate sites.
2. Your licence
On payment in full, you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide, perpetual licence to use one copy of the product for one live site, one brand, or one client project.
These terms apply to free products as well as paid ones. Where a product is supplied free of charge, the licence begins on download or access.
If payment is later reversed, charged back, or fails, the licence terminates immediately.
The licence is granted for the specific product purchased. It does not extend to other products in the range, other versions, or other designs.
You may modify the product as extensively as you like. Modification does not create a new product that sits outside this licence. A modified product is still the product.
3. One licence, one use
This is the term people most often get wrong, so it is spelled out.
One licence covers one of the following:
- One live website.
- One brand or business, where the product is a Canva kit, email kit, or other non-website product.
- One end client project.
If you want to use a product on a second site, for a second brand, or for a second client, you buy a second licence. Every time.
Buying once does not give you unlimited use. A licence is not a tool you keep in your kit and reuse.
Bundles count as one licence. Where two or more products are sold together as a bundle, set, or package, the whole bundle is licensed for the same single site, brand, or client. You cannot use the template for one client and the matching kits for another.
Moving a site is fine. If a licensed site changes domain, is rebuilt, or is migrated to new hosting, the licence moves with it. What is not permitted is running the original and the new one as two live sites.
4. Designers, agencies, and freelancers
You are welcome to use our products in client work. We build for designers as well as business owners and we want this to be easy.
The rules are simple:
- One licence per end client. Buy a fresh licence for each client project. You may buy it yourself and on-charge it, or have the client buy it directly. Either is fine.
- The licence follows the site. When you hand the finished site over, the licence transfers to that end client for that site. You do not retain a licence for your own reuse.
- You cannot stockpile. A licence purchased for one client cannot be reused, adapted, or re-skinned for another. Even heavily.
- Disclose or do not, your call. You are not required to tell your client the site was built on our template, and you are not required to credit us. You must not, however, present the product as your own original template or sell it to your client as a product you created.
- Portfolio use is free. Show the finished work anywhere you like. Screenshots, case studies, reels, live links, all fine.
Volume or agency licensing is not currently offered. If you are buying repeatedly and want a different arrangement, email us and we will talk.
5. What you may not do
You may not, in whole or in part, in original or modified form:
- Sell, sublicense, rent, lease, lend, gift, or otherwise transfer the product to anyone, except as set out in section 4.
- Redistribute the product as a template, theme, layout, kit, preset, or starter file.
- Include the product, or any component of it, in another product you sell or give away, including templates, themes, courses, memberships, bundles, freebies, and lead magnets.
- Upload the product to any marketplace, template shop, plugin or theme directory, membership site, file sharing service, public repository, or AI training dataset.
- Share your Learning Academy account, login credentials, download links, documentation, or training videos with anyone outside your business.
- Remove, obscure, or alter copyright notices or attribution embedded in the product files, code, or stylesheets.
- Claim authorship of the underlying design, or represent the product as your own original work in a commercial context.
6. Product specific terms
6.1 WordPress and Divi templates
Our WordPress templates are supplied as Divi child themes and layout files, and are subject to split licensing.
The PHP code in our child themes is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later, as required because it derives from WordPress and Divi. That code carries the freedoms the GPL grants.
Everything else is not GPL and remains our copyright, licensed to you only under the terms of this document. That includes the visual design, layout files and layout data, stylesheets, graphics, illustrations, icons, demo content, documentation, and training videos.
In practice: you may do as you please with the PHP. The design, layouts, and assets are what you have licensed for one site, and those are what the restrictions in section 5 apply to.
Our templates require your own hosting and your own licences for the platforms and plugins the product is built on. See section 7.3.
6.2 Canva kits
Canva kits are supplied as template links that create a copy in your own Canva account. A free Canva account is enough for most of our kits, though some elements may require Canva Pro.
- The kit is licensed for one brand or one client.
- Do not share the template link. It is the product.
- Do not use the kit to create designs you sell as templates, presets, or design files.
- Stock photos, graphics, videos, and elements supplied by Canva inside the kit remain subject to Canva's own Content License Agreement, which sits above this licence for those items.
- Designs you create using the kit are yours to publish, post, print, and use commercially.
6.3 Email kits
Email kits are supplied as importable templates and copy frameworks for the platform named on the product page.
- Licensed for one brand or one client's email account.
- Emails you send using the kit are yours.
- Do not redistribute the template files, share the import links, or repackage the copy frameworks as your own product.
- A current account with the relevant email platform is required and is not included.
6.4 Workbooks, guides, and playbooks
Licensed for your own use, or your own business's internal use.
- Do not distribute copies to clients, students, or your audience.
- Do not reproduce the content in your own paid or free materials.
- You may of course apply everything in them to your own work and your client work. The ideas are yours to use. The document is not yours to hand out.
6.5 Training videos and Learning Academy access
Access is granted to one account holder.
- Videos are for streaming within the Learning Academy. Do not download, screen record, re-host, or share them.
- Do not share your login. Accounts showing shared access may be suspended.
- If you are building for a client and want them to have the training, they need their own licence.
- Any support tools we make available alongside a product, including AI assistants, are provided for your own use with your licensed product, on the same terms. Do not share access, resell access, or use them to support work outside your licence.
- We aim to keep training materials available indefinitely but do not guarantee perpetual hosting. Access may change if a product is retired or a platform changes.
7. Third party assets
7.1 Fonts
Demo designs may display commercially licensed typefaces. Those fonts are not included and are not licensed to you. Where a premium typeface is used, we supply a free alternative in the product and name the premium font in the documentation so you can licence it yourself if you want the exact look.
Free and open source fonts used in a product remain under their own licences, which are named in the product documentation in the Learning Academy.
7.2 Images and illustrations
Demo images are supplied for preview and placement only. Replace them with your own images or images you have licensed.
Where demo images come from a free stock source, they remain subject to that source's licence, and current credits are listed in the documentation supplied with each product. Where a product includes original or AI generated illustrations created by us, those are licensed to you under this document for use on the licensed site only, and may not be extracted, resold, or used elsewhere.
7.3 Required platforms, plugins, and accounts
Our products are designed to work with specific third party platforms, themes, page builders, plugins, learning management systems, and email or design tools. Which ones a given product requires is listed on that product's sales page and in its documentation.
- You supply your own. Any hosting, licence, subscription, or account needed to use a product is your responsibility and your cost. None of it is included in the purchase price unless the product page explicitly says otherwise.
- Third party terms apply. Every third party platform, plugin, script, or piece of software referenced by or bundled with a product remains under its own licence and its developer's terms. Nothing in this licence overrides those.
- We are not responsible for third parties. We have no control over their pricing, availability, feature changes, terms, support, or continued existence. If a platform we build for changes its plans, breaks compatibility, or shuts down, that is outside our control and outside this licence, and no refund is due.
- Check before you buy. If you are not sure whether you already have what a product needs, ask us first.
8. Support and updates
Email support is included with template purchases, at our discretion and within reason. Support covers the product working as designed. It does not cover custom development, third party plugin conflicts, hosting issues, or teaching you WordPress from scratch.
Updates are released at our discretion. There is no guarantee of ongoing updates, and no obligation to maintain compatibility with future versions of WordPress, Divi, or any third party platform. Where updates are released, licensed customers receive them through the Learning Academy at no extra cost.
9. Refunds
Because these are instant access digital products, all sales are final. Please read the product page, review the demo, and check the requirements before you buy. If something is genuinely broken, contact us and we will fix it.
Where you are purchasing as a consumer within the European Union, by completing your purchase and accessing the product immediately you acknowledge that you waive your right of withdrawal under Article L221-28 of the French Code de la consommation.
10. Breach and termination
This licence ends automatically if you breach it. On termination you must stop using the product and destroy all copies in your possession, including files on your computer, your server, and any backups. No refund is due.
Ending the licence does not affect any other rights or remedies available to us.
11. No warranty
Products are supplied as is and as available, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that a product will be uninterrupted, error free, compatible with every plugin, theme, browser, host, or platform version, or that it will produce any particular business result.
You are responsible for taking backups before installing or modifying anything.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with a product is limited to the amount you paid for that product.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, including lost profit, lost revenue, lost data, lost time, or business interruption, even where we have been advised of the possibility.
Nothing in this licence excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Changes to this licence
We may update this licence from time to time. The version in force at the date of your purchase is the version that applies to your purchase. The current version and effective date are shown at the top of this page.
14. Governing law
This licence is governed by French law. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the French courts, subject to any mandatory consumer protection rights available to you in your country of residence.
